Citizen Of The Year Awards

Each Year, Forum XXII members name a “Citizen of the Year” at our Annual Awards Breakfast in honor of individuals and/or groups that have made outstanding contributions to our community.  We applaud them for their commitments made over the years that have helped to build our community into the thriving metropolitan area it has become. We appreciate their idealism and continued support. In their honor, we make a contribution to one of their favorite charities.
 

2019 Citizen of the Year
Wendy Lister, Realtor at Coldwell Banker Bain. A icon in the world of Puget Sound Real Estate who gained national and international recognition both for production and for promoting training & other contributions to our industry. – A Donation was made in Wendy’s  honor & memory to the “Why Not You Foundation”, an organization that empowers, motivates, & prepares youth to be tomorrow’s leaders.

2018 Citizen of the Year
David Crowell, Director of Governmental & Public Affairs for the Seattle King County Association of Realtors (SKCAR).  A strong advocate in representing Realtors in our region for the past 30 years.  –  A Donation was made in David’s honor to “Mary’s Place”, a non profit shelter for women, children, & families.

2017 Citizen of the Year
Two organizations were nominated supporting homeless individuals and families in our community.
Sophia’s Way – Assisting women from homelessness to independence
Congregations for the Homeless – From homelessness to housing, one man at a time
Direct Donations were made to their respective organizations.

2016 Citizen of the Year:

2015 Citizen of the Year

Judy Clibborn, State Representative 41st District
–  A Donation was made in Judy’s honor to “Communities in Schools”, a national organization that builds relationships that empower “at-risk” students to stay in, & perform well in, school.

2014 Citizen of the Year
Murray Franklyn, a Puget Sound Area Homebuilder, who has stood the test of time in design, quality, and value through the years.
– A Donation was made in Murray Franklyn’s honor to NW Harvest, a non-profit that supports food banks

2013 Citizen of the Year
Bob Craves, Co-founder of the College Success Foundation, a public/private partnership committed to providing college scholarships and mentoring to low-income, high-potential students. Also a founding officer of Costco.
 – A Donation was made in Bob’s honor to “College Success Foundation”, whose work is noted above.

2012 Citizen of the Year
Bellevue Lifespring, their mission is to foster stability and self-sufficiency for Bellevue’s children and their families through programs that provide food, clothing, education and emergency assistance.
– A Donation was made to “Bellevue Lifespring”, whose work is noted above.

2011 Citizen of the Year
To Our Real Estate Legal Representation for fostering a spirit of cooperation, professionalism, and community involvement.

2010 Citizen of the Year
Farestart, Great Food. Better Lives.  A restaurant that is based on providing real solutions to poverty, homelessness and hunger.
– A Donation was made to “Farestart”, whose work is noted above.

2009 Citizen of the Year
To Our Real Estate Brokerage Owners for fostering a spirit of cooperation, professionalism, and community involvement.
Joe Deasy, Matt Deasy & Deanne Wilson – Windermere Real Estate/East Inc. – A Donation was made to the Windermere Foundation
Gary Hackney – Re/Max Northeast A Donation was made to the Susan G Komen Foundation
Robert Potashnick – Ewing & Clark Mercer Island – A Donation was made to the Garfield boy’s basketball program
